Multi-State “Roll Up”
Powell Growth Capital created a plan to acquire and consolidate up to 50 retail business locations around the southeast to eventually operate as one branded company. At inception, the company only had one initial location and needed to identify and acquire the remainder of the locations. The client sought out Matt Slappey for his acquisition skills and expertise. Matt and his client created a plan to identify and personally approach potential acquisition clients throughout the southeast U.S. to create a multi-year acquisition plan. Within 14 months the client had fully acquired six businesses with a total of nine locations. Within 24 months, the number was up to 9 separate businesses with 14 locations. At the two-year point, Matt provided the client with an acquisition list of 16 separate companies with 44 total locations that were interested in selling to his client over the next few years. This effort and execution allowed the client to achieve their goals and ultimately create a company that was sold because of its scope and size to another larger company attempting to do the same type of roll-up strategy. The client successfully exited extremely satisfied with “an offer they couldn’t refuse”!
